Sakura has proven to be much more useful than Hinata throughout the manga.

Yeah we need to keep Sasuke around so we can take out all our hate on him and make the other characters look good in comparison. Sakura was alright, you are all under rating her, remember she helped kill Sasori and saved puppet douches life. Even puppet douche is a good character, he improves a lot every time we see him.
Getting to the point I think Tenten is waste of ink, she never helped defeat a strong opponent, atleast not that I can recall mainly because all she does is throw random weapons, no jutsu involved other then the weapon summoning with scrolls, even Sasuke was able to use something similar in his fight against Itachi with those weapon bracers. Tenten is only good at beating low ranked thugs and she rarely gets air time anyway just kill her off already xD .

Sakuras feats >>> Hinatas feats. In fact, Hinata doesnt have feats at all, so if any of them is useless, it is Hinata. Sakura contributed in defeating Sasori, made antidote for Kankuro, killed Pain summon, analyzed Zetsus DNA for allied shinobi forces. Hinata just get owned by Pain, aside from that her role is completely reduced to be thinking about Naruto. Shes like copy of Orihime from Bleach.

Every character as a purpose big or small some make more sense than others.To me would make the story more dramatic if they kill of some main characters or characters that have a purpose like all the Kages.
