No character is waste in any manga, they are introduced to develop and let the plot progress and therefore every character has its importance. No matter how big time it sucks (Sasuke) and no matter how useless it is (Sakura).

Not really, since Sakura has some real feats. She made antidote for Sasori poison, which resultet in healing Kankuro, and allowed to defeat Sasori later. She killed one of Pain summons, and saved Hinatas ass from death. Not to mention she saved Naruto three times before time skip. She also analyzed Zetsus DNA for allied shinobi army. So no, they are not the same, Sakura is much more usefull.

by basing usefullness of characters via feats...kabuto is useless....
hinata plays a huge role in the story as narutos potential love and / or along with sakura keeping fans debating by not giving obvious hints as to who will be with naruto

he didnt master them through training , simply implant some of oros corpse and by naruto logic he has full knowledge and ability of orochimarus techniques
imo it isnt much of a feat

and anyways measuring a character by feats is pretty useless as this thread is asking: useless characters? so feat or no feat hinata isnt useless because she is a main reason why people watch naruto to begin with

I disagree slightly. Orihime is much cooler than Hinata. She's not really shy, and she's just plain awesome. We see her cheery and happy most often, which is a stark contrast to gloom and doom Hinata. I think Orihime is just goofy, but at least she's confident in herself and her powers. We NEVER see Hinata being that way. In fact, her character is easy to see through. She's so cliche it feels fake...
