Sasuke awakened his sharingan in manga chapter 27. Naurto starts learning to walk on water from j-man in chapter 92.

The sharingan thing I was talking about is where there was a ninja race. The one where it showed the second hokage's thunder sword. When they all fell in the water naruto walked on it and took the racer on his back. Sasuke had his sharingan activated at the time I think. Before that he didn't walk on water. I don't remember if this was a filler or not. :\

I went back and read chapter 27 (Haku vs naruto+sasuke) and 92("J-man" was teaching naruto to use his "red" chakra)

Now, In 27 Sasuke did learn to awaken his Sharingan during battle, But it eventually goes out rendering sasuke regular. And in that whole time he didnt see anybody walking on water. In 92 J-man was just trying to get naruto to use up some of his chakra so he could use his 9 tails chakra. and then he summons a tadpole
And i believe that the thunder-sword was in a filler but I dont remember him running on water with his sharingan activated

Somethings been on my mind recently, I noticed when Sasuke and Naruto were fighting at the Final Vally between the Minato and Madara statues, that Sasuke could walk on water... WHO THE HELL TAUGHT HIM HOW TO DO THAT?? Now I know that some of you would say that I did, when i was teaching Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura how to concentrate their chakra to the bottom of their feet to walk/run up the trees... But Jiraiya taught Naruto how to walk on water, remember? At first I thought Sasuke saw Naruto do it first with his Sharingan and copied him... But Sasuke didn't have his Sharingan activated yet. SO the question is... Who taught him how to do it?

FYI that's hashirama senju not minato, kakashi wouldn't have ask such a stupid question for he wouldve known saskue was capable of coping "water no-jutsu", at any point after he obtain Sharingan.

A possibility is that, in order for Sasuke to better learn how to manipulate his chakra transformation to create Chidori, he learnt how to walk on water. He learnt it quickly in that span (perhaps, Kakashi demonstrated it to him and he just copied it)...
There were most likely quite some training with Kakashi before the fight with Gaara (Chidori and it's intermediate steps, Lee's taijutsu, perhaps basic jutsus...)Nevertheless, we can only suppose it since Kishi, most likely will never show us this.

He trained with Naruto on a tree remember? Naruto had terrible chakra control so for him it was way harder to learn walking on water then Sasuke who is much smarter and take things quickly up. Like he never trained alone..?

Hi Kakashi-sensei!

I dunno if anyone said this as an answer yet but I'm sure every at least chunin level ninja probably learns to walk on water. I think it's like a basic thing all shinobi eventually learn.

And I think Naruto had to have special training to walk on water because at that time he couldn't focus/distribute his chakra correctly because of the odd number of seals on top of the even number of seals on the kyuubi inside him.
