Minato was holding naruto when he used the reaper death seal also I did some research some people said that kushina died during a mission but unless I hear it from Kishimoto I won't believe it.

Yeah I don't think Minato would have gone that far if Kushina was still alive then. I don't know how he could convince her to let their recently born son be the host for one of the most dangerous entities in the Narutoverse. There's no confirmation on how she died/status.
