I just don't find it plausible Samahada will absorb Amaterasu given it's hype to be as hot as the sun which I understand is hyperbole, but still implies it a lot hotter then a mere Fire Ball Jutsu.

Amaterasu is no where as hot as the sun, I don't even think it's as hot as an average A rank Katon. The properties in which give Amaterasu an S rank to my conclusion is the everlasting effects to stay present for seven days, and seven nights.

Personally I believe a regular S rank Katon would have completely taken out the samurai in which was struck by Amaterasu here:

Kisame can only absorb chakra with direct contact, as far as i'm concerned. There is no proof that Samahada absorbed Roshis lava release, it was probably ineffective because of Kisames suiton.

More than likely, Or.. Itachi due to his proficiency with the Sharingan could have exerted enough chakra to simply push back, and overwhelm a CM2 Sasuke's Katon. This all to push Sasuke to the edge, so that Orochimaru is ultimately released in which Itachi can ridden the pest of which is Orochimaru; Totsuka Blade sealing.

I'd refute my rebuttal however, due to Itachi trying to preserve as much chakra as possible so that he could outlast Sasuke until the final moment.

Kisame is in top 15 easily. But in top 10, its difficult.
