As the two shinobi stood, facing each other in shock and silence, the theater eruppted into applause from the surrounding audience. Kakashi jumped forewards with shock as he forgot that there was people there after hearing about Madara's power. One of the people in the audience came up to Kakashi to talk to him.
"Hey, man, that was AWESOME! You totally just made my week!"
"Ummm... Thanks," Kakashi responded.
"Are you doing this show again any other time?" the man asked.
"No, we're-"
"Pretty busy at the moment," Naruto inturruped. "But we would love to do this again when our schedual clears up a bit, okay?"
"Alright!!" The man turned to leave, and then turned back to Naruto and Kakahshi. "Hey, are you two staying at the Ramada inn?" he asked.
"Ummm... We're not sure where we're staying," Kakashi responded.
"We're also kinda broke," Naruto added.
"Well here," the man took out a one hundred dollar bill. "Think of it as a charity for performers down on their luck. Go down to the Ramada, get a nice room, and don't worry about paying me back. You guys did a great performance; this is the least I can do for you."
"Well... Thank you. Mister...?"
"Heins. Rob Heins."
"Nice to meet you, Rob. My name's Ka-" Naruto stomped on Kakashi's foot, trying to make Kakashi pick a fake name, to which Kakashi slapped Naruto with the metal plate on the back of his hand. "Kakashi," he finished. "It's Japanese."
"That's a cool name," Rob said. "And what's your name, dude?" he asked, nodding at Naruto.
"I'm Naruto," Naruto said. "I also tap my knees."
"Japanese," Kakashi whispered into Naruto's ear.
"What?" Rob asked.
"Japanese. I said Japanese. I'm not sure what you heard."
"Yes, well, have a good night at the Ramada, you two." Rob walked away, obviously a little wierded out by the the 'Tap my knees' statement. "I like your clothes, by the way!" he said to Naruto over his shoulder.
"Looks like I picked out the right stuff, huh Kakashi-sensei?"
"You need to learn how to listen," Kakashi said.
"I listen!" Naruto replied. "I've just never heard that place before!"
"And so you thought I said 'Tap my kness'?"
"Shut up!"
Naruto and Kakashi made their way through the crowd of people asking them questions and trying to make them do some of their tricks, and got out into the open air of the setting sun.
"It's been a long day," Naruto said.
"Very long," Kakashi agreed. "Say, can any of you give us directions to a place called the 'Ramada inn'?" After getting directions from a local man (which Kakashi memorized immediatly), Naruto and Kakashi began to walk to the other side of the town to the hotel. Along the way, Naruto and Kakashi began to talk.
"Kakashi-sensei," Naruto started.
"Yes, Naruto?"
"How do you think Madara got that power?" Kakashi was silent for a moment.
"Actually... I don't think he does have that power."
"What do you mean? He claimed to have gotten the Sage's powers here."
"Why would the Sage's powers be here? I think Madara was just bluffing to get away from a second Rasenshuriken."
"I see... Which brings me to my next question."
"Which is?"
"Why does our chakra recover slower in this world? If we were back home, I should've been at full power from when I fought that cop to when I fought Sasuke at the gas station, but I wasn't. I was still missing some chakra, and a considerable ammount, too! This world also makes us work harder to mould chakra and our jutsu uses more chakra than normal. Why is that?"
"I don't know. Maybe because this world doesn't resinate with chakra like ours, so it's harder for people like us to be 'normal'."
When Kakashi and Naruto got to the Ramada, Kakashi paid for their stay and they both went straight to their room, ignoring the waterslide and hot tub, to rest up so they could start early the next morning.
As Naruto lay in his bed, which was closer to the window as Kakashi insisted on sleeping near the door in case of emergency, he could hear every speeding car, every siren, every explosion that could be a gun shot or a malfuntioning engine, and was very uncomferatable with this new world.
"Kakashi-sensei. Are you awake?"
"You don't have to call me sensei, Naruto," Kakashi replied. "We're at the same level now, if you haven't surpassed me."
"Alright. Can I tell you something, Kakashi?"
Kakashi, still wearing his face-mask even as he slept, rolled over to look at Naruto. "What is it?"
Naruto layed in silence for a little while. Then, he turned his head towards Kakashi, and said, "I want to go home."
"So do I, but we can't until we send Sasuke and Madara back first."
Naruto sat bolt upright in his bed, an idea in his head.
"What is it?" Kakashi asked, sitting up slowly.
"If our chakra regenerates slower in this world, and our jutsu takes up more chakra, and Madara thinks he has the Sage's power, but doesn't, we can trick him into using all of his chakra and then send him back home!!"
"That's a good idea Naruto," Kakashi replied. "But it'll only work if Madara truely thinks he has the powers of the Sage of Six Paths, and he was probably just bluffing."
"I suppose you're right... But what if he does think he has the powers of the Sage? Are you saying it could work then?"
"I'm saying that we should get some sleep. Good night Naruto." Kakashi pulled the covers over himself, and went to sleep.
"I can't go to sleep knowing that we could beat Madara," Naruto said to himself.
"So watch a little T.V. while you wait," Kakashi mumbled. "But do it quietly."
Naruto picked up the T.V. remote and turned on the new device. The black screen flarred to life, emmitting bright lights, and sounds, which Naruto (after a tutorial from Kakashi) turned down so he could barely hear it.
"This just in, Breaking News!" came a voice from the television. "World renouned manga artist, Masashi Kishimoto, has hit an artists version of writers block."
"私がしようとしていた..."
"I was trying to draw some of my signature characters for the new chapter," Masashi's translator cut in, "and, I noticed that four of my characters came out horribly every time I tried to draw them."
On the screen were screen shots of a horribly disfigured person in a jumpsuit with spiky hair, and a guy with a warped mask and a terribly disfigured body.
"私が描いてみた..."
"I tried to draw them on larger pieces of paper, but they still did not come out as they should. I am sorry to disappoint my fans, but the newest chapter of 'Naruto' won't be out until I can redraw these four signature characters..."
On the screen now were four pictures of the characters Kishimoto couldn't draw from before he hit his artists block. When he heard Naruto's name, Kakashi got up, and stared in shock with Naruto at who was on the screen.
Naruto, Kakashi, Sasuke, and Madara were in each corner of the screen as the people continued to talk, but they weren't listening.
"What does this mean?" Naruto asked.
"I- I don't know," Kakashi replied.
"The 'Naruto' manga, which is the most popular manga in the world to date, is about the adventures of a ninja named 'Naruto' who goes throughout his world fighting against an evil organization known as the Akatsuki-"
"I thought this world didn't know anything about us," Naruto said.
"So did I."
On the screen was a clip of the 'Naruto versus Pain' fight.
"How did they get that?" Naruto asked. "They recorded my fight with Pain and somehow brought it back here."
"This is getting wierder by the second."
Clips from the 'Chuunin Exams', the 'Garra versus Deidara' fight, and even Naruto and Sasuke's final clash before Shippuden appeared on the screen, and this freaked the two ninja out even further.
"But the one who created their world cannot continue the story any longer until he can redraw these four characters..."
"The one who... Created our world?" Naruto asked.
"Maybe Madara does have the Sage of Six Path's powers," Kakashi said.
Kishimoto appeared on the screen.
"This great man has even greater artists block. Good luck, Kishimoto-san." The television went to a different story, and Naruto turned it off.
"That guy must've been the Sage," Naruto said. "He created our world, and now he's giving my adventures to this world-"
"But because we're not in our world, he can't continue to give this world you adventures," Kakashi finished. "It makes sense, except for one thing."
"What's that?"
"Why your adventures? Why not the fourth Hokage, or the first Hokage, or Jiraiya's, my fathers, or mine?"
"I don't know," Naruto replied. The two sat in silence.
"We should get to sleep pretty soon," Kakashi finally said.
"Alright." Naruto and Kakashi got under their covers, and tried to put the thoughts of the Sage of Six Paths living in this world out of their minds.
What could come from this breaking news? What would happen if Madara got ahold of this news? Where is Madara and Sasuke? Will the Naruto characters meet Kishimoto? I'm not sure, but I should be soon!
"Hey, man, that was AWESOME! You totally just made my week!"
"Ummm... Thanks," Kakashi responded.
