Outside of Konoha, has a hiyuga clan member ever been regarded as somebody to be feared? someone of world class bingo book status? SENJU Hashirama and Tobirama were feared worldwide...UZUMAKI Naruto's name is known amongst teh world... UCHIHA Sakura, Itachi, Sasuke, Madara, Shishui, Fugaku, Mikoto, etc, are all household names in teh ninja world. But weirdly i cant remember a hiyuga member whose fame spread outside of konoha!? interest in teh byakugan and gentle fist existed but to my knowledge not a single hiyuga member carries a legendary status...thoughts?!?!

It's not like we have any fighting hyuugas that are relevant to the story anymore. So Idk why people would just fear them like that unless they were villains

Oh how people forgot that the Hyuga, aside from the main branch has had their power limited by the strict rules of the Hyuga.
They had curse marks placed on them and only the main branch was taught to utilise their Byakugan to the fullest. Neji trained his techniques on his own and defied the main house, that's why he became so powerful... also with talent.
... and sadly, he passed away before his prime.

Hyugas are the least feared clan they are just noble thats all. They are called strong for thier family sake they descended from strong bloodlines thats why. Dont confuse it for power they are no where near itachi or madara or senju hashirama or fugaku or kurenais clan power. Most of thier things are taijutsu they stand no match for ninjas like deidara, temari, roshi, danzo, asuma, asura path, deva realm, itachi, kisame(soloed neji like a kitten closed in a box) etc. More than 80% ninja are mid range and longer so hyugas dont have a chance at beating any of them. Hyuga can be beaten with distance keeping.

Are people really going to ignore the fact that the Hyuga limits their clan's potential in order to let the main branch come out ahead?
What would've happened if all of them had more freedom and trained their techniques like Neji?
They do possess a mid-long range technique called air palm though, but only those from the main branch and Neji were using it, because Neji broke clan rules and trained for it.
@bold... This is BS and you know it. Even if they specialize in close combat, doesn't mean that they'll automatically lose against all range attacks. Neji is proof of that and yes, I can only reference him because he's the only one from the branch family that trained his Byakugan like the main branch and had the most focus.
We know absolutely nothing about the other clan members or if there's other techniques that exist. Even Hinata managed to create her own gentle fist technique, so it isn't that hard to imagine that other techniques can be used, especially range techniques, since they've already shown one.
But like I said, the branch clans are limited by their clan rules.
They possess the insight to know when someone is going to attack them and don't possess any blind spots, aside from that one point at their backs.
Even if someone were to launch an attack on them, they'll be able to react to it faster than normal.
... and I guess it's hard to believe, but yes... The Hyuga do possess nature affinities and can train to use elemental techniques if they wanted to, since they have excellent chakra control. They could even master high ranked jutsu with their chakra control, but like I said, they are limited by their clan's rules.
