Yeah Brazil had a poor World Cup besides against Cameroon. I think the others are referring to their performance with and without Neymar. Sure they weren't playing at their top potential even with Neymar but without him, they stopped playing decent all together. It was like the heart of the team was taken and the rest of the body was just easy pickings

There's only so much a manager can do.

Not picking players like Coutinho, Pato, Ganso, Willian etc was criminal though.

True, but that doesn't mean you completely forget how to play.
Even the bottom teams in the EPL will try to show some guts and defend for their lives.
Brazil were gutless, regardless of whether those players were good or not.

To answer the question, Brazil is good individually but they can't play as a team, most of them play in different European teams while the coach works in Brazil (Brazil's style of football is very different from the European style), it's just a bad combination.

Against a team like Germany who are good individually and know how to play together very well (as many of them play on the same team) Brazil (and most teams) don't stand a chance

The coach didn't use a 'brasil' style of play at all... He chose to fight to the finals instead of playing 'Joga Bonito' ;D
