Where I live its legal and there haven't been any major issues with it other than regulation.

Its really not that big of a deal.

If you criminalize people for smoking grass they will become criminals if you have them be responsible with it they will be responsible.

Legalize Marijuana and Reap the benefits. Everyone wins.

Well said. Weed is a problem now because it is illegal. It's as simple as that. In comparison to the numerous other drugs, alcohol and tobacco, as well as pharmaceuticals, weed isn't on that level. Someone with adverse effects from marijuana is usually an outlier, rather than the norm, other than the effects that it has on memory.

Legalization of any drug reduces crime rates by removing it from criminal hands, but also greatly reduces the rates of addiction aa well as overdose, because you allow users to do so in a safe environment, where they know they can get help when needed without being persecuted. I believe Portugal has done so, and you can look at them to see the results.

The reasons for it being illegal is for the most part all false information. It is proven that it doesn't attribute to brain cell loss, respiratory conditions (just the opposite it helps with asthma by expanding you airways). And in the past 3 years it has been scientifically PROVEN to help treat and fight off cancer cell in a persons body which is a significantly better alternative to chemotherapy. Weed it natures remedy for MANY common ailments. Weed has been called the miracle plant because it has a large variety of uses and can grow virtually anywhere on the planet. Imagine what would happen to pharmaceutical companies when people are able to grow their own medicine compared to paying hundreds...

It became illegal for political reasons that are not relevant today.

As a stoner myself, i'd legalize it. Why? Because teens love to do stuff they're not allowed to do.

Weed is illegal because it's dangerous because of the environment. Legalize it and you would not need any drug dealers, which means less likely to use other drugs which is the most dangerous part of weed.

People should be allowed to relax as the please, just don't overdo it and you're fine.

Well assuming there's a medical store that sells it and not a black market but even that's impossible. XD

Anyone who says that marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco is blatantly lying to you
Anyone who says marijuana is addictive is lying to you

It is in fact much LESS dangerous than alcohol and tobacco

That is NOT something pro and con groups have to argue, that IS a scientific FACT!

Meh I say legalise it since it techinically no much different from Tabcco or Alcohol in Harmful for the health department ... Plus it has the Pros of actually reducing illegal traffic and if someone get sick due to it, they can come for medical help without fear. Plus it should be curing cancer and all kinds of diseases if the claims are true.

I think weed should be legalized, but with an age restriction, like what they did with alcohol, and make the prices for it (unless used for medical purposes) super high. At my place, nothing really happens and pretty much everyone follows the laws, so the age restriction thing would work. Probably won't work if it's implemented on places with high crime rates though.

I am certainly pro MJ, though I am worried that if it did get legalized, the government would just tamper with it and would add additives to it and stuff. Tobacco is actually not that bad for you, its the cig wrapper, and the filter with all the extra chemicals in it that make it addictive and harmful.

MJ is classified as the same as heroine, crack, or meth yet does nothing at all remotely close to what these drugs do to you. That in itself is fishy on the governments part. They have paid doctors and pharmaceutical companies for years to say that it is harmfull, causes cancer, causes lung damage, causes whatever they can think of when in fact you just might be a little lazy and or eat a bag of cheetos. Research from unbiased scientists from all over the world are proving that pot isn't bad for you (well it can do some damage if you smoke, say, 10 blunts a day for 50 years...too much of anything is bad) and even has multiple heath benefits as others have already stated. It helps with seizures, mental disorders, relieving pain of any sort, relieving nausea, curing cancers and tumors, and helping people relax and de-stress in general.

I used to be against it, because all i did was listen to my parents and other grownups who haven't been educated on what the government has done to prevent pot from being legalized. Once I started doing my own research, I learned that most of the studies they did to prove it was harmful were retarded at best...such as proving it caused lung damage by pumping into a baboon (or some kind of monkey) lungs about 30 or 40 blunts worth of smoke (I am trying to find the link, but this is one tiny example of many) and they used that to prove it was harmful. Also, it is rarely ever mentioned that when people who commit crimes, go crazy, or develop some sort of other illness have also either smoked cigs, drank alcohol, or done some other drug while they were also high.

All i can say is, just do some research and look at both sides of the story. It is still being heavily researched in the US but other countries where it is legal have very interesting studies over the years of what it does or doesn't do to individuals health wise. Just do some research!

Some of the things you said are actually incorrect. Tobacco kills more people than anything else in the united states.... If I'm not mistaken its equivalent to murder, car accidents, suicides, and a few other things combined. Second it's actually opposite of what you said about the government. Its the pharmaceutical, alcohol, and tobacco companies who pays the government to keep it illegal. Like I said in my post before imagine when people who suffer from cancer, glaucoma, anxiety, insomnia, depression, ulcers and other stomach conditions, women on their menstral cycle, etc no longer have to go to the local pharmacy to pick up meds at $15+ and can just grow a pot plant which will always replenish itself because its a plant..... Can you say game changer to our way of life???
