I know when many people make graphics they try to go with some sort of style when creating stuff. Do you go for a minimalistic style with anime, or a semi realistic (Halo, Video Games etc.) style loaded with C4D's, or a real stock? Do you prefer to work with renders? Do you prefer brushes or using light textures? Tell us your style.
In other words, how do you go about making your graphics?
My style of graphics is quite unknown to be to be honest, since I'm still exploring it. But what I like to is choose a nice stock, which I prefer over renders, and more of a real stock, instead of anime. First thing I usually do is placement, and filling in that background with some content aware fill, because I have CS5. Then I'll usually add in some nice lighting effects using those standard soft brushes and brushing those corners. C4Ds are usually next, placed behind the stock and blurred a but to create some depth. Then I'm adding other effects, such as light textures, regular textures and anything else the graphic needs. Then if I can, I'll add in text and make that look nice. After that, it's some more lighting and some gradient maps, and then I'm done.
Avatars are a totally different method, which I won't go into right now.
