What's the purpose of chakra/black rods in your opinion.

In a battle, what purpose does the black chakra rods serve?

Does puncturing somebody count as some kind of solo?

If so, I'm pretty sure a Kunai knife can do all the same.

Have you ever seen a kunai even remotely come close to hitting someone who wasn't complete fodder? I say kunai are about as useful as hurling puppies at your opponent if they are the least bit skilled

Stop a person from moving and potentially control them. They also have some strong defensive properties. Pretty good imo.

Not really completely controlling the opponent's chakra. The momment naruto traced back to Nagato mean that whoes ever got "better" or higher in overwhelm the other chakra shall take the control

They're stronger and faster than kunai. And when they hit, they not only cause physical damage
but also disrupt chakra flow. So unless your kunai was hitting someone in the neck, the black rods
are more effective. And black rods are harder to block.

Naruto is not a weak foe... He's quite strong spiritually...

P.S. The distance was quite large and Naruto had to go BSM to overrule Nagato's control when closer...

You can do that with strings.

Well Madz said what they are used for but I'm holding that off for now.

Hagoromoo had the rinnegan and TSB, he never had to sync with Gedo mazou for anything or to get those implanted in him.

He used his staff for mirages and transferring yin yang seal powers to naruto/sasuke

I've read it and most of what it said, people here called it farce.

Disrupting chakra is what it primarily states, but most of what they posted there was never stated in the manga it was agreed upon by the members.

There are a few correct things put down there

It's purpose is to complement dojutsu (Rinnegan/Sharingan). Chakra rods allow the user to disrupt an opponent's chakra and can paralyze the body (like genjutsu). It also grants the user control over the opponent's nervous system (corpses able to walk, talk and fight).

Also, anyone with Kaguya/Madara's skill (erhm Sasuke) can create their own version of black zetsu and therefore manipulate their opponent's will using the chakra rods. (Madara did that to Obito for rinne tensei)
