What's so special about the Byakugan ? It seems pritty stupid to me compared to other dojutsus ?

one requires the byakugan in order to use the gentle fist technique and perform the eight trigrams 64-palm strike. these technique are unique to byakugan users.

actually its not. naruto caught him off guard and surprised him. yeah u can see through anything but if your not "looking" in that area then no you couldnt see it. and plus he wuz hiding directly underneath his shadow clone too that wuz lying there. so its chakra wouldve hide his chakra while hiding beneath it. the actually blind spot is above one of the veterbrae. but neji decreased his by forcing chakra through the blind spot to see better.

It can see people a certain distance from you, ~300 meters. You have a 360 degree field of vision. You can see chakra points and the chakra system completely so that's an advantage. It's pretty much an ultimate defense, but the sharingan has been boasted above this recently.

no acually neji turned off his byakugan because he thaought he won. his only blind spot is behind his neck.. period!

The Byakugan does have many great attributes, but because of those abilities it puts it at a huge disadvantage with the sharingan.

Since the Byakugan can see almost 360 degrees, it makes it very easy for a sharingan user to cast a genjutsu on them, since Sharingan genjutsu requires eye contact.

the reason that naruto was able to defeat neji then was because neji was nearing his limit in chakra already and turned off the byakugan. they both went down when the divine rotation and narutos attack collided. when he got back up, he already had the byakugan off. and since he expected naruto to be out of stamina, he didn't bother to try to check if there was a trick or not.
