Jiraiya told the frog key he thinks minato left kurama to naruto because of madara

Minato jiraiya and naruto all thought having kuramas power was enough to fight someone indra level

Rinnegan needs close quarters to control Nine Tails as per Nagato: Third Rikudou Sennin's words.


Sasuke's Rinnegan acquired it's base abilities which makes it unique.



So controlling bijuu is mainly a sharingan feat.

If we go by power, Kyuubi could beat a Rinnegan user.

In terms of power/how strong it makes you and not going up against each other?

Rinnegan is a tool while Kurama is a sentient being. How strong the Rinnegan will be is determined by how well the user uses it and how much chakra they have. In Kurama's case it's different. How strong the Jinchuuriki will be is determined by how much of his chakra they can use and whether they're on friendly terms or not.

Rinnegan doesn't have a set limit to its power (The more chakra you have and the stronger it is, the stronger the Rinnegan will be) while Kurama already has a set amount chakra and power (its up to the Jinchuuriki to put that already existing power to use)


I'll go with the Rinnegan since it has the potential to be much more powerful than the power Kurama grants. Hagoromo who created the moon is a perfect example.

Bijuu's on their own aren't that powerful, as long as you have the necessary tools to fight them. (MS, SM, KKG, etc etc)

Hell even RSM would neg the Bijuu's quite easily.

Kurama is stronger. But the Rinnegan implicates that the user has Rikudo chakra, so the user would be stronger than Kurama's host. We've seen an uncontrolled, 8-tailed Kurama is well more than a skilled Rinnegan user without Rikudo chakra in their system.

It really depends. Nagato, Madara and Sasuke are all on different levels with their individual Rinnegan. In the hands of a natural wielder rather than an implanted one, the Rinnegan has been shown to be stronger, both for Madara and Sasuke.
