Theories on the masked man in Naruto. (spoiler alert)
Okay, so in Naruto the manga recently revealed Tobi is not Madara since Madara has been revived by Kabuto using impure world resurrection. I do not know if it is there yet in the anime since I have fallen behind on those episodes. Anyways, I wanted to hear other people's theories on who Tobi is. Give an explanation on why you believe your theory is correct. I have two theories:
1. I think Tobi IS Madara, but just a fragment of him. The Sharingan is a strange jutsu, and since Madara's developed into the Rinnegan, then there is no telling what he is capable of. I think before Madara died all those years ago, he may have broken off a fragment of himself to carry out his plans, or used the rinnegan to keep his body alive even after his spirit passed on. After all, impure world resurrection calls back the spirit of the deceased. The jutsu does not call the spirit back to the original body. This means Tobi could be using Madara's body. This would explain why Tobi has a time/space jutsu which everyone recognized as Madara's at first, and also why Itachi called him a "pathetic shell of his former power."
2. Tobi is Madara's brother, Izuna. I think this is possible since Tobi seemed so sympathetic to Madara stealing his brother's eyes and was insistent the Madara's brother wanted to give Madara his eyes. Perhaps after Madara's death, Izuna took back his eyes.
