Naruto being a Jin never bothered me to begin with. The very first issue/episode started with this. The are/were 9 of them. Others just didn't want to accept this was how the Ninja world worked. But they are fine with the whole "genius" is naturally blessed with unbeatable seemingly invincible reality altering eyes thing. Kind of hypocritical.
OT: If you were to take away the Jin thing. Sage mode would be enough. It would simply have to be expanded upon up to Rikudo level without it being powered by beasts. Hashirama was a Sage without being a Jin and look how powerful he was.
Not being a Jin however could have given Kishi an opportunity to explore the Uzumaki Fuuinjutsu line and history a whole lot more. We might have been able to see more than chakra chains and flying thunder God which would have been welcomed.
Honestly I think people wouldn't have a problem with bijuu if they weren't personified. If they had been just massive chakra forces that followed the same Transmigrate path Ashura/Indra's chakra did throughout the ages that didn't require the Jin to talk with them and ask/demand power from then this argument really wouldn't be a thing
