I'd just do what Kishimoto is himself doing.

Ignoring all you ungrateful whiners and telling HIS story. You'll all be running back and praising the guy when he wraps the series up and you see it as a whole.

That my friend, is the quickest way out of a job. Virtually all authors adapt based on popularity. Why do you think Breaking Bad got so good? Their ratings went up and up even though they weren't so good at the beginning. It's because they learn, to use what works and what doesn't. It's as simple as that. If they were completely oblivious to the ratings, do you think they can even come close to what they became? Heck, if they didn't pay any attention, they probably would have went with what ever original idea they had at the beginning and would have lost out on the Emmy.

Moral of the story: Criticism is good. It keep authors from slacking off. Well, most of the time.

Agreed, but there's a happy medium. If Kishi went and had to deal with all of the flippant petty criticisms of the people on this site then there wouldn't be a story LEFT. It's the author's story he is telling, we're just spectators.

Cancel the Manga for a month and let the damn idiots who always moan learn a lesson and make them stop complaining. Also gives time for work without pressure.

Create a spin off crappy Manga for my ungrateful fans, and publish my original Manga to my loyal fans.

well considering that kishi said once the manga will end manga in a year or two,i think he actually doesn't care about it anymore and just wants to end it and start something new or even stop writing for good.and i really doubt that when a person is planning to wrap things up will actually care about critics.

I agree there is a happy medium. But I don't think we're there yet. Not even close. To my knowledge, there isn't as strong of a system for reviewing manga/anime as there is for movies and TV shows coming out of Hollywood. For example, they don't have a Rotten Tomatoes or a Metacritic where they gather reviews from professional critics. In a sense, I really wonder if Kishi even knows how well he is doing as there isn't much to keep him in check. Also, there are more indicators to a manga's success than just sales numbers.

Yeah why not, let's all just drop the ball when we are near the end of the game. I've done contract work before and I can tell you, even if I know I'll be done with a client I'll still make sure I do a good job. That is just the professional thing to do, i.e finishing strong.

One word, momentum. He's only lasted so long because of his earlier success.

If I am an excellent chef, and all of the sudden make crap food, guess what, I'll still be in the cooking business because of the fame of my previous success.

This is soo right. Naruto part one was pretty flawless and Shippuuden pales in comparison.

I mean especially the fodder war arc. Its filled with fodder zetsus, and nerfed edo tenseis that even Tenten could take out off panel!

I mean seriously Kishi, I hate this unreal people coming back to life, but the least you could do is show the the battles in detail.

The severe blunder that Kishi did is that he killed off all the akatsuki members. Why the haste Kishi?

Madara and Kabuto did spice it up for the moment, but even they are completely ignored by Kishi.

Finally, I think Naruto is a lame protagonist as he by himself is unable to do anything, especially without Sasuke.

Kishi, at least give him an new oufit and different moves instead of his annoying bunshins and the different rasengans coming out of his ass.

This guy has it right. People always praise chapters that they hate later on, its happened so many times. The whiners will all go from whining to wanking the manga right back to whining again.
