What would make you like a character?

Now we all know that several people dislike some characters more than others. What could these characters do to make you like them more?

For example, Sakura finishing off an already-weakened Sasuke.

If Izanami had to Sage come from the heavens and decide who is the rightful victor of the battle (+ if you like Itachi).

if I liked a character it would be madara coz of his epic cockiness

I like minato and lee because I like speed.

I like kakashi because he's laid back like myself.

I like gaara also because he's laid back and his arms are always folded when he fights.

I think they could play a bigger role or have a great background story. Like Sasuke, i didn't really care for him until i read his background story. Sakura is a great example too. If she had a bigger role, then just being on "team seven" then yeah, she would get a lot more attention.

For Kiba, I would like him more if he'd just shut his mouth. The reason i dislike him is because of how cocky he is with no reason to be.
For Sasuke, I would like him more if he rejoined the leaf.
For Sakura, I would like her more if she wasn't such a terrible person to Naruto.
For Kabuto and Edo Madara, I would like them more if they would both die so i could see the Naruto vs Tobi fight some more.
