What would be your 3 improvements to the Story Of 'Naruto'

I would eliminate the Uchiha Clan vs Senju Clan rivalry because that's what befuddled the plot. Develop the Uzumaki Clan more, have Danzo take out Sasuke and become a main player, Obito or Pain FV.

1.For the story to be a little less linear and focus time and development on the side characters.
(Specifically Sakura,hinata,Shikamaru and rock lee)
2.Expand upon the geography better with more insight to the other nations and lesser villages that surround the ninja borders.
3.A more saving private ryan type feel to the war where the fcus would constantly shift to the factions and individual fights.
4.Given oro more time to be a villain and involve the sound village and his prisons a little more.
Oros nins never come off as more then a few groupies when he has whole organizations and prison fortresses under his conrtol

I just wish he had improve the abilities of jonin in the series. I know the series have high level villains and all that but the way they get fodderised when fighting exceptional shinobis just makes doubt if they've been through the other ranks

Even though naruto is on its 687 chapter it's still not that too long of a story if it was like one piece it could focus on side characters more instead of just the main characters

What 3 things would you've liked Kishi to change/include in the Story to make it more Expansive or Better for you

Here's mine:

1. Development (Explanation & History) of Other Clans in the series other than Uchiha, Senju and Uzumaki. For example; Sarutobi, Hyuuga, Hozuki, Inuzuka, Kaguya, Nara etc. This Would've developed the more of the side characters and given them more importance to the plot also possibly developed their abilities.

2. History of the other Shinobi Villages other than Konoha. Kishi did start to develop Sunagakure in Part 1 but didn't go in depth. Other Villages get almost no development. This would've helped build up the NV, introduce new locations and new mysteries and other issues happening in the shinobi world.

3. Development of Individual Character goals - In this series, the few characters that do have goals either want to become hokage, peace or want a lover. Kishi could've developed Konoha 11 better by giving them individual goals to achieve by the end of series (similar to the Strawhats in One Piece). e.g. Rock lee wanted to become one of the world's best taijutsu users but Kishi hasn't done anything to push Lee towards this goal in shippuden.


If you're one of those people who think that the story is Perfect how it is, then feel free to say so.

You have great points. I think the fillers could have been a lot better, use them to actually give use information like how we saw Kakashi dealt with losing Rin and Obito filler. Could have used fillers to show use other characters training or going on missions where side characters show some development.

I also don't like when Kishi give Naruto and Sasuke a powerup but don't give them enough time to train and master those powers but are expected to beat tough enemies right off the bat. He made the Edo Hokages supporter types so they didn't don't everything they could have, should have done a time skip before the War and had the White zetsus capable of using water, earth, and wood jutsus which would result in more death on the Alliance side but also make it much harder for them to beat them and it would prolong the war so we can see different characters fights.

Kishi also suck are maintaining chakra reserve for people too, namely Kakashi and Sakura in the war.
