What was the point of the Kaguya fight?

I am being serious. She was a massive disappointment. We didn't even get a proper backstory from HER point of view. In other words, why did she even need an army in the first place? At the present time, it looks like the Kaguya fight was nothing more than a "bridge to revolution", which is really stupid.

And no, I doubt she will be a villain. The recent chapter implied that she was under the influence of something(I'm guessing the Shinju) and was really a good person. Kishi will no doubt give her redemption like he did so many other antagonist. The person she wanted to fight probably will be the villain.

Oh the "START of the project". I see. It's just that Kishi said in an interview that the manga would end after Madara, the juubi and Sasuke were dealt with.

To let team 7 fight like old times sake and to make sakura amd kakashi relevant. I think her back story may play a part in this manga still but it was mainly to develop other characters and give the hokages and madara a good send off

Kishi couldnt think of a legitimate way to kill Madara or Obito off. Even though Madara was made of marshmallow, and Obito was dying of every guarantee kill in the manga.
