What was the point of Rasen-Shuriken

you're right, all the techs naruto and sasuke have learned has been completly abandoned whenever they learn 1 or 2 new moves. and they just spam their new techs.

Well u can never know till they figth and since they always use rasengan and chidori against themselfs,i think so.
Plus kakashi knows a thousand techques but that didnt mean he should use every thing in a single battle.all i am saying is that it depends on the situation

This is not entirely true he learned the rasenshuriken in the 4th arc but never used it again till the 8th arc/pain arc to which only one of the pains got hit with it yet 3 of them including the main one got defeated by rasengan's. He still used shadow clone's and frog kumite(sage taijutsu) up until recently those were pretty much his entire arsenal but even now he is still using all his jutsu's but they are more powerful thats all.

It was to show naruto's progress because you know sasuke's always one upgrade ahead (3T then sm, ms then km, ems then bm) so they wanted to see naruto's nature and shape manipulation like sasuke's chidori sword (not the actual blade) xd

ok but all those upgrades that naruto got were better then sasukes upgrades, SM is definetly better then 3T and SM could even put up a good fight against MS in fact it could be equal or better, if not then only slightly worse and then KM definetly beats out MS and EMS would be a close to equal match with KM, if they not then only slightly better so now Im feeling that BM is too much for EMS, it doesnt seem fair

Don't forget that Sasuke has at least one more upgrade i.e-the rinnegan.
