I think this is something that should be carefully thought about. Naruto, since he was a kid, always talked vehemently about being Hokage someday. Someone as obsessed with this title surely has an idea of what being Homage entails. Mostly it means being the most powerful ninja while protecting and loving those within your own villiage. Cool.
But at the same time, it also became apparent that Naruto hated killing or hated what essentially what a Holage would have to inevitably do whether it's thru orders or by his own hand, protect his villiage by killing if necessary.
This clearly creates a paradox.
It's like if a person wanted to be president of the U.S. but was absolutely against the idea of war or killing others to protect the nation.
So what do you think Narutos true goal actually was? As a child, him wanting to be a ninja already shows that he wishes to kill if necessary, but his actions always revealed that he hated it. To make a comparison, Sasuke became a ninja to kill Itachi, Kakashi knows what a ninjas duties are and Sakura eventually wanted to help wounded ninjas.
But this kid is confused. It's clear Naruto's ideals parallel mostly with those of someone like Ghandi and not Clinton (a man who was loved by people but still commanded an army of killers)
I guess reality doesn't care about your dreams, and that's why Obito and Kabuto told him hes just a kid
