Law is really smart person to begin with.
Law was working on avenging rosinante from very beginning.
he do not need be warlordship in order to take down doflamingo.
sengoku like charecter's do favors for people and make them do there spy work.
After luffy escort mission,
sengoku came to know about, who law really is, the kid from past(Donquixote Rosinante was once asked favor to protect "law").
Law and sengoku got in touch via snailphone.
they made some plan and agreed to work on common goal.
sengoku asked law to became warlord first as per plan.
Being warlord is ticket to roam free.
I think, law agreed to be warlord only until downfall of doflamingo.
that why, he didn't cared about his position as warlord at the time of meeting at greet pit.
This is how the meeting might occurred :

I guest it was just the thing, in order to set meeting with sengoku.

1) get recognized
2) became warlord and get in touch with sengoku
3) infiltrate doflamingo's base; namely Punk hazard and smile factory
4) watch the show of destruction of doflamingo.
Note* - Appearance of luffy at punk hazard changed whole plan.
Here add up - the thing luffy fall for - defeat emperor.
I think, i clarified his deal with WG and as warlord.
