Okay, since it was revealed in the manga, there has been a lot of discussion over what The Sage
of the Six Paths meant by "Unlike when you were inside me, you will be lead down the right path".
Many people say the Sage used the power for selfish reasons, but I think otherwise.
When the Juubi was revived, Naruto sensed that it was made almost completely of Nature
energy, and in a way making him part of the world itself. People of that time referred to the Juubi
as a demon, when in reality, he was a protector, protecting the world from humans who were
ravishing its resources and killing the world itself.
When the Sage fought the Juubi, he was unable to defeat it, so he sealed it inside himself.
Surpressing the Juubi from the world it only wishes to protect. And that's where my theory
begins.
Sometime after becoming it's Jinchuuriki, the Sage discovered the truth of the Juubi. He realized he surpressed the world's protector, from the world itself.
After realizing this, the Sage began to ponder onto how one entity could protect the entire world, and that gave birth to the idea of not just one protector, but nine. The nine Tailed Beasts.
The Sage created the Tailed Beasts to protect the world, each Beast protecting each part.
He hoped that one day, the Tailed Beasts would "know what true strength is", and by this, he meant unity. The strength to forgive the humans for their wrong doings and live in together in peace.
The Sage passed the jutsu to becoming a Jinchuuriki for that reason, to help Tailed Beasts and humans become one.
When the Juubi sensed the Sage inside Naruto, he attacked Naruto. Because in the Juubi's eye, the Sage was the biggest threat to the world for surpressing it's protector.
I believe the Sage also put a little bit of his own chakra into the Tailed Beasts, that way, when the Tailed Beasts all become one again, the Sage will appear, and explain the true existence of the Juubi and the Tailed Beasts, giving humans a different view on the Tailed Beasts so they can realize they are simply there to protect, not to terrorize.
I believe this is what the Sage meant.
Let me know what you guys think, do you agree with my theory or no?
Also, what are your own theories as to what the Sage meant.
