Voting is privilege. Fact that some guy who could not even finish elementary school have same vote as someone who at least knows how his state works is disgusting.
It is a perennial theme of western political philosophy that the best form of government is rule by the best, namely aristocracy.
Alas, that word is now a bastardized one because ‘aristocracy,’ as framed by Plato in his republic and its many derivatives framed by western philosophers after him is just the opposite of what sense that word is in common use now.
To Plato, Aristocracy was the rule of ‘philosopher-kings’ – the candidates for which are to be meritocratically selected from the population based mainly on two qualities, intelligence and character, who are then only given the mantle of rule after a lifetime of ruthless winnowing. In short, Plato envisioned an aristocracy ruled by the Socrates of this world.
The founding fathers of America are perhaps the best example of the Platonic ‘philosopher-kings.’
And yet, the bastardization of the word aristocracy to mean rule by a monetary elite both of questionable intelligence and character, i.e. rule by the Clintons of this world, I think, parallels the natural evolution of historical aristocracies.
Rome, once the pride of statesmen like Marcus Aurelius, became what Juvenal mocked as “bread and circuses.” And now we see the western world becoming little more than welfare and Hollywood.
Like Sisyphus who rolls his boulder up a hill only to watch it fall back, the ideal state, the Platonic aristocracy that is rule by the best of men, always falls back under the weight of human nature.

Hitler made the same point. Taking away the right to vote is harsh, I have heard people say that you should be at least 20 years old but I don't know. Focusing more education early on for people in school about politics could be good I think so that people vote for actual politics and not just charisma.

If they want to decide course of their state they should be aware of what is happening in it. I would gave them test about their country to show that they do not vote guy who look nice.
and who really knows what's going on in the government besides the rulers ? no one, all the analysers are just talking. they don't know shit. all the doctors in politics, in geopolitics, all the journalists etc. don't know shit.
so, ultimately, everyone is being manipulated, maybe.
also there is this concern I have about democracy, just a reflexion, I need POVs on that : isn't the 8 years max term problematic ? how can someone design a serious / solid plan for a country that will show it's results in 4 years, max 8 years ? isn't the 8 years term a childish proposition ? the results of that are candidates that talk about secondary problems and don't adress serious matters rationnaly in there programs.
I mean, the president of america should be talking about the damn cancer cure don't you think ? how to keep millions and millions of americans from dying that is a problem that should in his program.
he should make a program on how to make more electric cars, how to produce more nature friendly energy, how to organize the transition from oil economy to green economy, to find an alternative for the oil companies so they stop resisting,
you know, real problems. and i'm not just talking about america, also france, england, japan, china, etc.
these great countries are just economicaly warmongering like retards while people keep on dying in a stupid way and while the earth is preparing slowly our extermination.

You think this would happen? Never. You'd be killing the very core fund generator of the country. Dubai exist because of Oil, frankly cheap oil. You think any predisposition contrasting that would find success? I don't. Why would a puppet master untie strings from his puppets?
that is what a true president of the united states should think of, a long term plan to solve a real material threat, not some black vs white or gang shit, these problems should be kept under the hands of underlings institutions. not the most powerfull political insitution of the planet, if there is such a thing.
but I think I've gone to far in my delusions, one more time.
