I agree with everything bar the bold.

Yes, the Uchiha were going to defect and well, commit treason. That's not justified in any cirumstance, considering that they only lived in a different district and nothing more. They lived there for years, but thought of rebelling at the point that the village was at its most peaceful. They were suspected for the Kyuubi incident, but they were all absent on the night of the attack and we'll never know why (fillers count for nothing). Sasuke lacked the ability to comprehend that taking power by causing conflict was not a good thing and he supports the Uchiha no matter what they do. That shows some weakmindedness.

The only ones in Konoha who have anything to do with the deaths of his clanmates are Homura, Hiruzen, Danzo, and Koharu. Literally no one else. It is justified for him to kill the elders, but an entire village that know nothing? No. W/ the Uchiha all the adults knew, Uchiha go insane when they lose someone/become hate-filled and greater conflict was avoided (massacre was definitely not the best way to do things, though). Killing an entire village was overkill. If he really wanted to go for an "Eye for an eye" theme, he could have killed only the clans of the elders...but an entire village. That's just randomly killing w/o reason and not remotely justifiable. It actually showed that he didn't really love Itachi- he doesn't value anything about him. He just admired him, but didn't care for his self-sacrifice.

Uchiha bros are 5 years apart. Itachi was 13 and Sasuke was 8. Kakashi became a Chuunin at age 6. He experienced something worse at a younger age.
Kakashi was used to the death scene as he was a Chuunin, so it wouldnt affect him as much as it would affect someone who has never witnessed death before... Especially one committed by the hands of his brother/role model, and not just a single family member, but the whole clan was murdered, and then on top of that, as if that was not enough, Itachi tortured Sasuke that same night via genjutsu.

Red@His father legacy ended in a suicide.
Black@I don't know why that matter, this is not a versus thread
@black I am inferring that there was a chance he could have avoided Rin, but I guess plot demanded it
@red Ok? Obito's legacy ended in getting crushed by a rock (At the moment it was believed he was dead), but then turning psycho and wanting to enslave the world via Infinite Tsukuyomi. But I guess Obito's was more important because Kakashi at least got something out of it Lol

sad =/= going through more
If a past is sad, it allows the audience to feel sympathy for a character. Such as when a person does something they really don't want to, but are either forced to or know that have to. A character's rationale is a significant factor as well.

Sasuke made his own choices after Obito told him the truth about his Nii-san. Thus anything that's bad and occurs to him after that point can only be blamed on him tbh and sympathy is not needed. He has a brain and he does use it after all.

If someone would be crazy enough to stab themselves, it would hurt but no one would feel sorry for them because it occured out of their own stupidity. Sasuke has now decided that he is going to do what he should have done about 2 years ago (6 years ago in our time), go back to Konoha and be with friends. Try to benefit the people there and help his friends. It's good that he finally has a general idea of what he should do and he has been through alot, but it really wasn't needed on his behalf and it looks like he wasted his time in a way.

Also, Sasuke didn't lose everything. He lost his parents and Itachi. He didn't know the others in the clan and had a few chitchats with his Aunt and Uncle. The others, he had no feelings for. He still had a village of people praising him and he admitted that Naruto was like a brother to him. He also cares/cared for Sakura and Kakashi. Team 7 gave him closure.

it doesn't matter how many people you lose... even if it was one person...if you really loved them it's still hard to lose them...

I agree that his approach to justice is in the wrong way though

I don't know why you are bringing Obito on the legacy of Sakumo

Sasuke did go through a lot he experienced the death of his family members by his older brother who he loved the most and finding out later the leaf pushed him to do it. Don't compare it to Kakashi since a young age he was shown cold and heartless, he experienced the death of his father instead of treasuring his fathers legacy he called him a coward. He became a Chunin at a young age so experienced death and murder. Gaara may have a tough childhood but he turned his hateful childhood into anger and killing everyone to feel normal.

I don't know why you are bringing Obito on the legacy of Sakumo
Obito reminded Kakashi what his father died for, making him believe his father died a hero protecting his comrades rather than a coward who failed the mission

I can't really sympathise with him because he isn't progressive. He keeps using his pain as a reason to justify his self indulgent actions. Gaara, naruto and kakashi arguably had similiairly painful experiences but they have learned and developed from it and now are making positive change. Sasuke just plays the victim card and doesn't really grow from his experiences - something I don't respect.

Kakashi was used to the death scene as he was a Chuunin, so it wouldnt affect him as much as it would affect someone who has never witnessed death before... Ok, I'm going to say this as someone who appreciates Sasuke's character, so just keep this in mind, please:

Sasuke really hasn't had the worst past. At least Gaara, Itachi, and Nagato have been through worse. Sasuke still has time for a future. In regards to that night...

Kakashi was still 6. And Sasuke was 8. Everyone sees death sometime. Itachi was a 4 year old toddler when he saw 1000s of people- both shinobi from his home and enemies slaughtered. They're ninja. That's normal. Not all of them snap after seeing that. There's not much point to comparing it to real life when the #1 rule at the academy is "A ninja must not give in to their emotions". They're all like that. Some are mature enough to put it behind them, others aren't.

If you see numerous people die who you have no connection to, then it doesn't affect you as much as seeing one die who you love alot. Sasuke didn't know the majority of the clan, and according to what Kishi wrote, "he wants to honor his parents". Honoring the clan is like a default, if he honors his parents, then he honors the clan. Sasuke lost 3 people he was close to that night. Kakashi lost his father. Then he lost Obito, then he lost Rin, then his sensei died. Then he had to live with thinking his best friend died due to saving him and he killed the other. That's not glamorous.

Yes, Sasuke didn't believe that Itachi would do something like that (or at least knew that under normal circumstances, he wouldn't think of anything like that), so Itachi used Tsukiyomi on him which caused him to awaken his first tomoe and become a little more powerful. He showed him the deaths of random fodders and their parents. Watching something over and over causes one to become desensitized. Sasuke became a better shinobi due to that. He wasn't a pansy, and grew up to be a goal-oriented, fearless (not afraid of death), powerful individual adored by everyone. And he hated Itachi. Itachi-hate and 1-tomoe aren't as bad as Kakashi hating himself. Hating yourself for a crime/something you didn't want to happen hurts considerably more than hating another person and thinking they suck.

How can anybody ever say that sasuke didn't have it worse...
Ok others had it bad too I agree but that doesn't mean that sasuke was having it good.
Firstly Sasuke was 7 not 8 when the massacre happened (not much difference in his age & kakashi's).
Secondly Kakashi was a chunin and saw deaths, the war was still on around his time so he was trained to deal with it wheras for sasuke he lived in a peaceful world he didn't knew anything that was happening in outside his clan.He never saw death of a person much less a family member. After that fights between his father and itachi made him anxious but then he was led to believe that everything was alright again.
Then on a random night itachi the brother sasuke idolized and loved so dearly slaughters his family his clan and then shows him how he did that.A kid who has never witnessed a death much less a real fight has been shown the murder of his family and clan by his own brother and for what just to test his power...How would you feel if you would be at his place.
Sasuke really had it bad I don't have to explain the scene with itachi because that only made matters worse.
Earlier itachi himself told sasuke that he never loved him it was just to test whether sasuke was a worthy opponent or not. Then right next to the day sasuke killed itachi or was reason of his death he was told that itachi was not evil he was a hero and an amazing big brother who loved his brother more than anything in this world and protected a village with his life which gave him nothing but pain and disrespect.
You tell me what would you do worship the village that was responsible for death of your family, that made your life hell or take revenge on them.

What is sadder, having to endure the loss of your loved ones (which a few Naruto characters had to endure) or being the one to have to decide that KILLING your loved ones is for the greater good and then living with it AND accepting the lie that you are a traitor to your village?

I think Itachi had it the roughest, and yet he still fought for the safety of his village to the end (and even beyond the end). Poor suckske? More like poor Itachi.

I kind of see what your talking about, but even if it does happen you can't let your emotions control you, as if that one part of your life gave you definition. It's reasonable to believe going after them for revenge but to discard a new life for revenge is kind of a stretch in my eyes. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

I think each character has had their own form of " had it worse" to jus single out one is pointless. Examples: Kakashi lost his mother (how no clue possible child birth) father killed himself from depression. He wasn't a prick jus angry at everyone else having a family.
Naruto had no one and was hated by the villagers for being a Jin, Had no family never knew lthe love of a parent and lashed out doing pranks to get noticed (thats a serious cry for help)
So to me no one has had it worse off then others everyone has experienced loss and heart break in the series thats whats made it very popular cuz alot of people can relate to loss ,pain and hurt in their lives at one time or another.

RIP Robin Williams

Yeah we all agree he went through so hard periods during his childhood, however, most of his actions were silly with regard to what he went through.
If i were him, I wouldn't have made some of the decisions he made.
