Well whenever we get threads about other characters they get ignored unless it involves a comparison with Ootsutsuki, all I can say is deal with it

Very good point. I mean the fact that people are already talking about Sarada getting a MS rather than if she can even fire a Katon style fireball is interesting to say the least. I'm not saying it's wrong or anything, but it does reveal what the readers find more important and I just hope Kishi isn't compensating for them only

Did it occur to you that people are perfectly entitled to like action and power? After all, the point of reading a manga is entertainment. People have the right to talk about and debate about what entertains them. I am not saying that you are not entitled to like the old part 1 power levels, but that preference is no more justified or unjustified than our preference of epic power.

Who are you to define who "the real readers who really appreciate what the story is really about"? This is not to even mention the fact that the rikudou level entities and abilities such as the juubi, Madara, infinite tsukuyomi, etc... were the most major plot points of the story. Therefore, from a plot perspective, the ones who truly appreciate what the story is really about would actually be us power lovers.

Another major part of the story's theme other than the actual eye of the moon plan itself, was the various ideologies that actually inspired the antagonists' plans. Nagato had his own ideology about bringing pain to the world to create mutual understanding and as a result temporary eras of peace. Obito and Madara had their ideology about how the world is Hell and needs to be eliminated and recreated via the infinite tsukuyomi. Sasuke had his ideology which claimed that a true hokage accepted all of the world's hatred onto himself alone in order to act as a common enemy in order to bring about revolution to the world. Even Kaguya had some semblance of an ideology by coming up with the idea that if one person obtained divine power, they could quell all wars and bring peace to the world.

The whole feud between Indra and Asura was a feud over ideology (power vs. love).

Ideology was even brought up in part 1 in fights like Naruto vs. Neji.

Can't you see that ideology (about how to endure and how to deal with the world's hatred) is essentially the core theme of this series? That is what the manga is truly about. This theme mainly started to manifest itself loudly and clearly when the more powerful people came into the picture. As stated before, talk about eliminating the hatred and suffering in this world mainly started with Nagato and went on through Obito, Madara, Kaguya, Sasuke, etc... Therefore it makes sense that these characters would get the most focus. It was the characters like these who really drove the core values of the series home! Tell me, did Orochimaru ever do that? What core values did he or part 1 Kabuto ever hit on? If you really think about this, the powerful characters are really the ones who highlight what the series is all about. Therefore it is perfectly legit to focus on them. Is it wrong for us to be entertained by their epic power as well! No it is not!

You say that the series used to be about what it means to be a ninja, but the series was never just about being a ninja! In the end it was always about so much more! I think that people such as yourself just fixated on the word "ninja" and immediately thought about real-life historical feudal Japan. You probably just pictured guys in black suits running / hiding in the bushes and throwing knives, and then you came to expect that from Naruto only to be disappointed that Naruto ninjas are more than just that image of real life ninjas that we all get when studying ancient Japan.

Well, yeah, they are exceptional, which is what draws people in, I guess. It isn't as exciting to see regular ninjas in action, and I say that as a fodder fan.
