What makes a Manga/Anime great???

Me and my friend are thinking of creating our own manga and I just want to get as many anime/Manga lovers advice on What makes a Anime/Manga great I think you need a main character to through a dramatic change and a long term rival also a love interest throughout and a bunch of unique static characters that can change the flow of the manga but the biggest thing to me is that people can relate to how the characters feel

It's also important to keep the readers interested. Make sure that the characters progress as you continue. Make sure that everything connects with the plot.

Don't forget Cliff Hangers! They drive everyone crazy and create tons of predictions. Some kind of mystery in the story.

I hate fillers. Just put the facts that make your story go on...I mean don't put stupid-useless plots that are not even related to the story or circumstances.

characters that have a very intresting backround to them, a very good plot that doesnt drift,very focused, depending on the type, good action/animation, characters that you can relate too, nice/original drawing techniques

there are 3 things that seperate a good from a great series.

1. Character development
2. Character development
3. Character development

So many series and movies ignore the most crucial thing. Without interesting, RELATABLE characters, no plot or animation or anything can be good enough to make a great series.
