What made you love Luffy from Op?

When I started OP in the past like maybe 7-8 years ago, I remember watching it, and what made me love Luffy, and OP so much was when luffy got the World government against him, the noble family against him, etc. I was like "yoo Luffy is badass", and now recently he got Big Mama against him, and Doflamingo, and his family against him. I was just done. I just loved Luffy's character so much.

I don't really make threads like these, but I gotta give Oda props.

The fact that Luffy is an idiot. Luffy is an idiot and he knows it yet that is what allows him to go to the ends of the earth for those he cares about. He also knows that he can't make it on his own, but he still tries his hardest and that inspires those around him to support him.

His idiocy. His perseverance. His happy-go-lucky smile and his way of standing up for his friends and his dreams. Whenever Nami cried for Luffy's help against Arlong was when I first felt like Luffy was a true badass and I fell in love with One Piece after that arc. Luffy's stupidity is where is courage or lack of fear comes from so I find it very funny. I also like that he doesn't try and do everything alone, he knows the importance of his comrades and how useless he could be without them. And albeit being a pirate, he still feels like he needs to help those in peril (like Vivi and Rebecca). Can't help but not like the guy Lol

I love him because he's Luffy, simple as that. When Nami was about to escape in the start of the manga and Luffy jumped on her boat...

Well, that was one of the most Bad@ss moment in OP, Luffy going up against the world...

But I probably got into OP when Luffy stood up for Shanks in that village and Shanks saved him...
And when Luffy destroyed Arlong for Nami, esp. when he entrusted his 'Strawhat' to her before that march... That got Luffy into my fav. list...

I know, he's like many other shonen main characters but what it makes really stand out is that his goofiness is much more natural, his persona seems more natural overall.

base on my expirence and base to what ive seen to all the anime that ive watched , he has his own way of manliness.. thats what made me like luffy plus his idiocy is like no other.... i still remember those times when i first watched op..
