Nevermind the powers. What made Itachi truly great is the lack of self-importance. He truly worked hard strictly for the good of his little brother. Nothing else in the world mattered to him. He chose Sasuke over his own parents. He even checked Danzo when he tried to throw innuendos about Sasuke. Among all shinobi (even including Naruto), Itachi was truly the selfless one. Cheers!
