Please post in this thread only if you know what existentialism is, or at least read up on it a bit, because it is a pretty heady dose of information. And the topics are hard to grasp.

Do you agree with Soren Kierkegaard's version of Christianic Existentialism? Or do you favor Jean-Paul Sartre's form of Atheistic Existentialism. Or Nietzsche's form of Existential Nihilism. And what are your favorite works of these authors. My favorite is probably Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit It is a pretty interesting read.

i think there is no greater meaning to life and that we all chose our actions and are responsible for them, our mind and all emotions and feelings are bio/chemicaly based, I think that when you die you simply dont exist anymore (except a pile of mass thats left behind)

I know its not exactly from a philosopher but its short and simple

It's an opinion, personally, I disagree in a sense. While what you said is true, there is no greater meaning, you make your own meaning through living your life. You define yourself through the day in and day out of life, your relationships, and your development of your morals. While it is not a divine purpose of sorts. There is still something you live for, because if life were truly hopeless, life would be like the happening, and millions of people would end it to stop any suffering. We need meaning in our life, and saying there is no meaning basically makes the entire journey futile. So I prefer to think that while life is intrinsically meaningless, it also has meaning woven into it by us. We make our own meanings. (By the way, that is pretty much the main idea of Atheistic Existentialism.)

Everyone has it's views and opinions on life...i think religion itself is bad.I'm not an atheist ,I think there is a higher power there somewhere I just don't perceive it like any religion does. Fate unites ,religion divides.

Existentially speaking, purpose should be taken atheistically due to the fact that no holy form is guiding us on our journey. Destiny is non-existent and nothing is played out for you by that so called holy being.
