Are you aware of your recent to ancient ancestral line? What is it and your home language?

e.g I am descendant from X, who were originally from Y and were going Z etc.

or you more like, I don't care at all...

Me:
I don't care mostly about the identity side, curiosity side is what drives me to search mine, others etc.

I'm Russian with some German and Italian blood in my veins. I also know the names and biographies of most of my ancestors in my father's line up to approximately the middle of XIX century.

25% dutch 25% chinese 50% suriname

And i heard i have American indian Ancestors
In terms of purity I am almost 100% Xhosa, less than 5% South Indian traces(ironically I kept the God damn Indian surname :sdo:)

bulgarian and as far as i'm aware i have slavic ancestry

but then again i don't know anyone beyond my great grandparents, so who knows.

Bruh!!! in terms of names I can only go back as my maternal great grand mother she was named she-scorpion(she never wore a shoe in her life XD or legend says so)

I know jack shit from my father's side

XDXDXD I would kill for such a detailed strict knowledge, I only know the tribe line instead of close related family

My great-grandfather is still alive and in his 80s, lol.
Meanwhile not even my father is alive :lmao:

German, aryan proof till the 17th century on both sides of my family. =D
That makes a lot of sense , I bet there are many family branches portraits in your houses...

Biologically you must be caring a lot of harmful recessive traits with so little variation inside though (e.g The only trait I am aware of that I am carrying is the albinism trait)

Back when I was a kid I totally hated it whenever dad was forcing me to learn and remember it all. But now I realize how valuable that knowledge is :lol

Your dad was living the dream, the only line thing we have closest to linking in my heritage are "clan names". They are independent of Surnames. They are very sexist and inaccurate.

e.g

* Children takes father's clan name(so they are forced into being not so related to mommy's side)
* Can't marry a clan member(it brings curse, well scientifically you are merging same harmful genetic syndromes etc)
* If father doesn't pay the dowry to the mother's family, children take maternal grandfather's clan name

It is exceedingly inaccurate if you ask me...

Why? Because Germany are awesome? True.
Some, but not many. Why do you think so?

Wtf are you talking about?
Are you implying that it's bad that I have only Germany ancestors? If yes, that's bs.

I'm happy that I have pure German blood. I see no reason no to. =D

Oh dear... invariant family line = very high chances of simliar genetic harmful traits...

* colour blindness
* Sickle-cell anemia
* Albinism
* Hemophilia
* Cancer
* Diabetes
etc. These increase exponentially if the line is singular

We are all fine, never had any problems with health. =D
Many people I know have a similar histoy like my family and they also don't have anything like that.

It's not so high as you think it is.

I am me and my family is my family. I don't care about the history of "my ancestors-line". This past doesn't matter at all, who would care about that in the first place?

Oh yeah, forgot to say, I'm Pashtun, and my parents were born in Kandahar, Afghanistan. I don't really know my ancestry too well though. My great grandparents on my mom's side are alive but I've never met my grandparents on my father's side.

While I completely understand your view, it's more rational, but your ancestry is part of your identity, and people take pride in that.

Why do you read a book?
Why do you close anything written spoilers?
Why do you watch documentaries?
Why do you meet a new person with enthusiasm?
Why are Archaeologist/Paleontologists digging bones?
Why do Egyptologists exist?
Why does your cat occasionally gets stuck in a vase?
Why is the dog always sniffing?
etc.

Because "curiosity" and it differs in levels with each person. To someone like me it is the most dominant trait as I study whatever I can get my hands on

Pushtons are quite elaborate and well spread I see, Pakistan, India, Iraq, Iran etc There are many speakers of your language still existing...

Not really. Distant ancestors are not part of your identity. They had no influence on you. You don't need to know people of your ancestry-line except for your parents and grandparents if they are still alive. Everyone who is already dead when you are born, is irrelevant to your personality which is the only aspect of "identity" that matters.
This unjustified "pride" is one of the many cancers this world is suffering from. It insanely stupid to be proud of things you didn't have anything to do with.

If I were meeting you, I wouldn't care about your skin colour, your gender, your family. Your identity is the consciousness that sits in your brain between the ears. The only scenario where I would start to "care" about your family would be if I met them in person as individuals.

Sure, but curiosity doesn't make it less irrelevant. If you are fine with investing time in irrelevant stuff because it makes you feel better, fine. Do whatever pleases you. I just can't relate to it.

Yeah I am sure... Watching documentaries of people who you call their occupations irrelevant... The irony
