itachi was a konoha supremacist, who frequently committed high treason against both danzo and tsunade, because itachi felt only he can serve konoha "correctly".
he committed an unlawful heinous genocidal warcrime, then helped unlawfully cover it up, effectively lying to the entire world for the sake of the reputations of a few old corrupt politicians.
he tortured kakashi into a coma for no reason, other than to make kakashi suffer and save his own ass from an anbu army.
he attempted to kill kakashi asuma and kurenai because they knew what akatsuki was.
itachi attempted to trick sasuke into slaughtering an innocent konoha citizen to activate sasuke's mangekeyo.
itachi was willing to aid akatsuki in murdering gaara and 5 other innocent people, and willing to help release living nuclear weapons and give them to obito, simply because obito had promised not to use these weapons on konoha.
he couldnt care less if the world burnt around him due to giving the enemy nuclear weapons, just so long as konoha was the only place untouched.
he planned to literally brainwash and enslave sasuke by force to "protect konoha", simply because he needs danzo and tsunade to have their own obediant little puppet, and no other place is apparently worthy of sasukes eternal servitude. again konoha supremacist. everywhere else can go eat a penis.
So, it seems to me like treason, murder, assassination of kages, torture and attacking innocent people for some delusional belief that its all in konohas best interest, is itachi's own M.O. Is it the M.O. of most members on the base? Is that why he is so admired?
