What is so great about weakling fights?

Define "weakling fight". I'd rather see 2 ninjas go at it than energy blasts flying around every second. Part 1 had an element of "ninja" that was completely lost in part 2.

Powerscale was already established in part 1 when they said Maddy vs Hashi created a valley, I'm not surprised at these mountain sized monsters

Hard to characterize weak and strong characters, everybody has a KO/instawin move now.

But I guess when people get too powerful all that matters is how big your crater is. There's no need for strategy since all it takes is one big smash. And people like watching characters struggle and strategize, it makes the battles more suspenseful. Can't remember the last time a Shippuden battle had me on the edge of my seat, besides Pain maybe.
And admittedly, Kakashi VS Obito as well.

early fights had more strategy and tactics, and thus more tension. spamming lasers and skeleton monsters got fukin old fukin fast

But there is those kind of fights that is much better than current fights


Gaara vs lee

Konan vs tobi

Sakura and chiyo vs sasori

Depends on the perception on weakling, stuff like Ino ve Sakura in prelims was garbage because they were not much skilled or had interesting battle style; however Haku who Can be viewed as a "weakling" by some had an interesting skillful battle style So he is entertaining to watch. Or Gaara vs Lee is an a smaller scale but had more tension aspect compared to some battles in current manga.

İt is not about being weak or strong. İt is being interesting or not. A shooting bomb or a mountain sized wooden chunk are less Interesting than puppets performance of Sasori or a taijutsu moveset of Lee for me. C4 was powerful but interesting. Sakura in part 1 was weak but not interesting.

And OP has a good point. The whole Kakashi/Gai/Naruto/Bee VS OBito/Bijuus fight till Madara showed up was really good.

Well apparently a lot of people like fights with pocket knives and strategy. I don't care 'bout that stuff - I like flashy fireworks - as someone mentioned, and mountain busting jutsus.
