What is so great about weakling fights?

Everyone hates power these days and I personally just don't understand that. They say stuff like "this character is too OP" and "Kishi messed up the power scaling". Here is my sentiment: Screw power scaling! I love watching epic battles like Hashirama vs Madara!

You guys on the other hand, apparently just want to see Konohamaru vs Kiba or Dora the explorer vs Spongebob. I just don't get it. My question is: Why? Just, why?! What is so entertaining to you about weak fighters?

Don't lie and say that nobody has indicated that they prefer weak fights because people are always either trying to dismiss a power up as illogical or PNJ or simply dismiss it as borrowed power (like that actually matters at the end of the day). I bet that if I ate a sandwich and felt more energized afterward, you people would say something like "That sandwich was PNJ! That tomato was illogical!".

It doesn't make sense! Why do you want everyone to be weak?!

Share your thoughts.

I'd pay to see a Rock Lee vs Juugo fight, honestly.

That's fine. They're both pretty strong in their own rights.

I think fights that are on equal footing are good to watch. The steady escalation of power has been great, but it would be very refreshing to see something like that. =D

The fights were better by a shit-ton, I love how OP the characters are now but the current shit has nothing on stuff like Rock Lee vs Gaara, Sasuke vs Deidara or any of Pein's stuff imo.

Depends on the perception on weakling, stuff like Ino ve Sakura in prelims was garbage because they were not much skilled or had interesting battle style; however Haku who Can be viewed as a "weakling" by some had an interesting skillful battle style So he is entertaining to watch. Or Gaara vs Lee is an a smaller scale but had more tension aspect compared to some battles in current manga.

İt is not about being weak or strong. İt is being interesting or not. A shooting bomb or a mountain sized wooden chunk are less Interesting than puppets performance of Sasori or a taijutsu moveset of Lee for me. C4 was powerful but interesting. Sakura in part 1 was weak but not interesting.

People don't want weak fights, they want things like more close combat and less giant forms.

Well , people in here wank the DBZ fireworks type of fights, with the massive explosive balls & wat not :I really don't , give me some Taijutsu , strategies & less BS . This is why Tobi Vs Kakashi/Naruto/Bee/Gai is one of my favorites fights in Naruto , along with Lee & Gara , Konan Vs tobi ......& a few others .

But of course there's limits , who the hell would like to see Ebisu vs Iruka ? or stuff like Ino Vs Sakura , that is the worst & boring fight in the entire series . #Not debatable.

Most of them are for development, Ino vs Sakura was a good right, I stood for friendship and rivalry, it was foreshadowing Sakura's growth and skill, and Naruto vs Sasuke a bit. The battle was really as serious as most because they weren't actually blood lusted or didn't want to hurt each other. It gave us a idea about her mindset and inner most feelings.

Every fight has it's purpose,

I can respect battles like Gaara vs Lee or the battle with Haku. I can admit, those were interesting. They pale in comparison however to stuff like Madara vs the 5 kage or Hashirama vs Madara or Naruto/Sasuke/Minato/Tobirama vs 10 tails Obito. Just look at that last battle that I mentioned. Obito and the juubi almost killed Naruto and Sasuke so many times. A lot of tension rose up at moments like when Obito grabbed Naruto and Sasuke's faces and when that little black ball was about to explode near Naruto, Sasuke and Minato because we didn't know how the heroes would survive these attacks. They were good cliff hangers. Obito was so strong that we didn't know how he would be defeated. This gave a sense of excitement about the heroes' next move.

Because this is a show about ninja.

Large, nuke-sized explosions have nothing to do with ninja or tactic. Punches, kicks, thrown objects, strategy are more interesting to watch than 'how much explosion can you take'

The stronger battles have had plenty of strategy! The kyuubi chakara cloaks, using bijuu chakara to seperate the juubi, that finishing move that the 5 kages tried to do against Madara, the recent chapter where the bijuus used Madara as a volley ball and Kakashi figuring out the secret to Kamui were all the results of strategies!

What do you think about Team 10's revenge?
If you think that's a weakling battle then you're wrong. Because that was the most action packed arc where it actually showed how a shinobi fights. I really liked the taijutsu battles. that's what this manga is lacking because of all this OPness.
When Danzo kicked Karin aside, I was like O.O WTF? I really wanted to see Danzo in Taijutsu battle but it didn't happened.

I don't have a problem with "weak fights." Gaara vs Lee and Team 7 vs Zabuza/Haku are a couple of my favorite fights in Naruto!

But there's also something to be said about more evenly-scaled fights.

The problem I have is when the fights get WAY TOO BIG. Hashirama vs Madara being a super, epic-scale fight is great, but when Madara pulls out an enormous jutsu and Hashirama's only answer is to pull out an even bigger jutsu, which prompts Madara to throw out an even bigger jutsu, and then the resulting panels are just enormous explosions, things get a bit ridiculous.

The above is not a literal example (although the Hashirama vs Madara in the past is similar), but the series has escalated into that.

The series started as a brilliant strategy to free Kakashi from Zabuza's hold using kunai and a couple big shuriken. It's evolved into mini-DBZ, with Tailed Beast Bombs, Susano'os, Tailed Beasts themselves, and Hashirama being thrown around everywhere like ragdolls.

Everything causes huge explosions now; the power curve became way too steep. It's not the same.

At least, that's my opinion, and nothing more. Overall, I still enjoy the series, though I think it's gotten a bit ridiculous.

Because it's becoming a DBZ Clone, they don't feel like Ninjas anymore like they did in Part 1

^^^This fireworks is fine, but a fight without acrobatics, high level tactics, or skilled taijutsu is kind of boring when compared to one with these aspects

I'd actually rather see Anko vs Kabuto(with his snake dna and everything taken away) than beast bombs all over the place or huge mokutons. Or meteors. Or susanoo's.
