Correct. That means everything left is law, until proven false later on.
For example, as we have yet to see the Yata mirror defeated, the databook description and hype remains intact.
The databook is used to give insight on unclear material presented in the manga, from Kishi's own mind in his own words. You could say it's an unbiased interpretation of manga facts (albeit with added hyperbole).
So essentially, if you're not mentally handicapped, they're both credible.
Wrong, so wrong. Once some source of information starts to presnt multiple flaws, it can no longer be taken as "law until proven otherwise". Why? Because it's the same source of information. It no longer has a 100% of veracity, but a smaller %. So, there is a chance, and a considerable chance, that the information of that source is incorrect. We can't take that risk.
So, no. Databook is no law. It is an information that might be correct and complements the manga, but first, it must be analysed to see if it fits manga logic. Believing blindly in something already mistaken in the past is stupid.
