What is keeping Madara uchiha alive?

I have no idea because he doesnt have a real body. Eveytime u try to hit him it goes through because he isnt supposed to be alive Didnt he fight with the first and fourth hokage?

well if you keep up with madara enough youd know

that he can only make himself non-tangible for about five minutes, and that he still is able to be hit.

I just looked it up and in the manga madara uchiha states "An invincible immortal. That's who Uchiha Madara is" but i think it might be true

The strong chakra is a main reason most likely. He get's limbs back via the first's dna making a zetsu like limb it's presumed. I'll post the manga page of his slimy zetsu limb when I find it.
