The reason the anime is catching up so fast with the manga is cause they're gonna do fillers of all the fights that were left out, like the 7 swordsmen.

Yea it would have been nice to see all those things like Kakashi's rage in the manga. The 16 page chapters could easily be fluffed up with some more action scenes or the fillers you mentioned.
