it should be noted that they, madara, etc, are trying to reach the level of the Sage in terms of power so no, its obvious no one is currently at that level as yet. Also consider, the power behind those doujutsus we all know and love are in essence watered down versions of what the sage had. His abilities split between two clans, if he was powerful enough to defeat the juubi, wether everyone else was weaker by comparison, the juubi would have had to be the most formidable foe one can face, wether back then or in the current... one can go on and on about his other feats/ attributes that we have seen thus far but its clear he was that strong.
