I have been thinking of it. Let's put things this way.
Firstly you know that each generation surpasses its previous one. The current Kages have defeated the edos of the previous ones, as we all know by now. Apprentices surpass their masters, and so on. It's the logic of the series.
Madara is an extremely powerful shinobi, even stronger than all 5 kages of today together. But back in his days, he was considered even stronger, since the kages of his time were even weaker by the logic of the manga.
Now let's take it even further back. The SO6P existed when people barely knew ninjutsu. He controlled the 10 tails, but then again both Hashirama and Madara were capable of toying around with tailed beasts as well. He was considered a legend by those around him, but would he look as godly among the shinobi of today?
Frankly I'd assume at least Hashirama would be stronger than the SO6P, but this is only a thought.
Do you think SO6P is overrated?
