[Discussion] What if shanks dies just before luffy's eye?

Imagine a scenario with a huge ass battle between Blackbeard and Kidd vs Shanks. Luffy and his crew trying their best to reach the said field after defeating other members of the alliance, luffy thinking how now he will return his hat back to shanks. But then right in front of him blackbeard and kid kill shanks in front him, even though he was just there he couldnt save him with the hat falling down and the wind blows it away.
I can see Oda doing this atleast killing shanks off and making luffy go the same thing he did while ace was killed.

Kidd ain't gonna be no where near that fight. I can see BB killing Shanks though won't be right in front of him (seems redundant). Luffy would rage get beat up a lot and then win end. After some days recuperating Shanks' crew will hold the funeral. Luffy will attend and return Shanks' hat

It would be heartbreaking and very unfair to Luffy if that happened. Also Kid wouldn't be enemies with Luffy even if he said he would pre-timeskip. However I can see him taking Shanks place as a Yonko and becoming the new "Red hair".

"I am no longer Strawhat Luffy, I am Pirate King Luffy!", I can see Luffy becoming Pirate King and returning the hat to Shanks and him dying afterwards, it would still be sad but not as much.

Shanks death is the obvious in Oda's unpredictable story.

But... even if Luffy wants to return the Strawhat to Shanks it won't be returned.
Now, I can picture TWO SCENARIOS

FIRST
Near death, Shanks would say

SHANKS : "I never intended to take back that Strawhat from you. I had bet my captain's Will on a silly little crybaby."
(Luffy crying like a crybaby in front of dying Shanks)
LUFFY : "Sh....Shan...ks.... Shanks!!!!!"
SHANKS : "That Mugiwara.... keep it as a memento from me...And.. (smile on his face) Mugiwara no Luffy name suits you...Pirate King"

SECOND
At Shanks grave...
(In flashback, when Luffy after an arc with Shanks, leaves the island, Blackbeard raids and in the battle defeats already injured Shanks and kills him. Luffy gets to know it afterwards and returns)
The Strawhat, a little damaged from side, is hung on Shanks grave.
Luffy reminds the past and puts the damaged hat back on his head to take the revenge...

Shanks is too big of a factor to be present during the expected turnovers in plot, so he'll definitely be eliminated for the sake of plot...

Whether BB kill him or Kidd alliance... It'll be very late in the plot because right now both aren't enough capable.
And Luffy will definitely undergo another traumatic situation before hunting down BB for revenge... They won't fight for PK title, it'll be against Kidd...

just to make it clear u and all here know that Shanks crew are old enough like in age 35-40 or higher and until that time comes when they start fight there will be no " shanks crew got defeated " Lucky & beckman are like 10x blackbeards or 20x kids LOL just saying
