What I think about Soldiers...

I need to be honest here, in the end they are all murderers. Dont give me that excuse that "oh they fought for our country" BS. Guess What? Other people are fighting too, and they're also killers. And why are we fighting in the first place? Your fighting for peace but all this fighting just creates hatrwd for future generations. If you dont like how I think of this then thats good for you. But I felt the need to at least say this

Something is definitely wrong with society when this kind of attitude develops.
You are insulting selfless sacrifices of those countless lives. They died protecting their motherland leaving everything behind thinking it is their duty and someone shouts at their back that they are murderers. I have many in my country who do that for their profit or just to be famous,crying about terrorists in the name of human rights,I mean those victims and soldiers are human too.

Show some respect pal. Those "murderers" are doing what they do to spare your sorry self from any harm. It's similar(but on a smaller scale of course) to policeman. Policeman sometimes "kill" others too, but they do it to save our community from having to deal with such people. Whether you like it or not, there are always going to be terrorists/criminals/corrupt governments who put the rest of us in danger, and sometimes the only solution is brute force. This isn't some kids story we are talking about, but real life. It's just the way it is.

When you see things from outside , it's easier to judge , do you know what war is like or do you know the feeling , when you feel you could die any moment , you won't return home or ones you love will die by ones who fight against your country or people in it and i know war is a bad thing but many didn't take guns to their hands just to become murderers then they could have just become gangsters or ones who kills innocent people trying to take revenge from ones who hurt them .

you can't blame ones , who tried to protect ones country or people in it because they sacrificed their lives and arms , legs , eyes , their future and everything , i don't want to stop you from saying what you feel but think before you say something because there's always a other side , you tend to ignore been blind by your views .

I'm Active Duty Army. I don't fight to kill people. I have sent rounds down range and that's all I'll say about that subject. I fight because I find the military lifestyle superior to that of others. I have endured hours of bullshit that most of you can't fathom in order to gain recognition among my peers, make my family proud, provide for my wife and sons, and set myself up for a better life after the military.

I have no issues with what this guy has to say and here's why.

1. It's an opinion and he has a right to it.
2. I'm American and I am a firm believer in freedom of speech not only for Americans but the entire world.
3. I know for a fact OP will never have the balls to state that opinion out loud to a crowd of strangers in public.
4. I know that he definitely will never have the balls to confront even the shittiest of the shitbag soldiers about how he views them as murderers. (Despite the fact that most probably haven't deployed and most of those that have probably haven't been in an actual firefight)
5. I know if by some horrible chance of nature he is foolish enough to voice this opinion to a soldier and accuse them of being murderers that he will immediately receive the beating of his life.

Sounds to me like OP has just been getting too into anime and manga. After all most of them have a theme of the main character not wanting to kill. (Trigun, Ruroni Kenshi, etc) That's fine. You shouldn't want to kill. You're a little off target there with the message but whatever. However to condemn others for fighting for a cause that they believe in whether it be what started the war or simply because they think serving their country is a duty that they feel the need to fulfill I cannot condone. You sit there and call soldiers murderers for taking life then sit back and reap the benefits of their blood, mutilation, and deaths. I'm sorry but please give this matter some more thought.

Well, it really does depend on the side you are on, right?

If you are working for a corrupt government, then you would be a murderer.

If you are working for an altruistic or righteous government, then you would be a hero.

It's one or the other.

The answer is: "it depends"
