what happened to Yamato?

now i have seen similar posts to this subject but not to the proper discussion i would like to have here. my thoughts on Yamato is that since we have not seen him since the beginning of the war. im starting to believe that his cells could have been broken down to help create the Madara that we see now and with the direct bloodline cells taken from Yamato, Madara was then able to use the wood release and mokuton. which might be able to create a reason why Hashirama's face is in his chest because his body has not fully accepted the transformation. i think that Yamato was either killed and his abilities were taken from him or used as a blood fusion with Madara. im not completely 100 on this because its a really risky idea but i would like to hear others opinions on the matter please.

I just don't think that he is in the akatsuki hideout because he should've regained his strength by now to leave threre is no more edos running around and i have not seen a single zetsu for a while.

I was also thnking of posting the same thread.
Maybe he will find a way to escape, or be rescued before or after the war ends.
It would be bad if he dies bfore that.
