Kabuto's whole THING is that he doesn't want to be controlled by anyone. He wants to be his own man, and not be someone's puppet. To overcome this, he absorbs Oro to try and become more powerful than him. The irony is, however, that though he tries to overcome the whole "assistant" situation through absorbing Oro, he's still assisting him. He's assisting him because Oro
will take over Kabuto, and despite Susano sending Orochimaru into an eternal genjutsu, Kabuto performs the ultimate favor for his master by trying to become more powerful than his master.........
there's a lesson in there somewhere.........................................
