Photshop cs6 for pictures.
Sony vegas pro for videos/amv's/etc.
Cinema 4d, sometimes. Just for some nice and shiny 3d texts.

I use Photoshop cs5 Extended
+'s = lots of techniques. awesome filters as well as lots of editing options.
-'s =very hard to learn by urself (in my case i m still learning ,though what ive learnt till now is neat)

I use Infraview. It's not bad, easy to re-size and add borders and different effects. I'm still experimenting with everything

gimp is sexy dude i use it for avatars n all stuffs ..i even made signatures for zise admin of the server
its easy to use once u try to put some effort
i use photoscape for after effects sometimes ...

usually i use photosop and corel draw tow draw in vector or bitmap, and edit more picture with photoshop, and more program i use to draw photoscape and another software design.

.....I just checked, and low and behold, I have had photoshop this whole time and never knew it lol. I'm gonna try it since Infraview doesn't seem to have all the options I'd like (ie; the sexy curves on some peoples ava's and so on)

I use Photoshop CS5.1 with the updates. Sometimes GIMP for the good grundge effects.

Photoshop cs6 extented all the way. It has an awesome UI, I personally didn't like the UI in GIMP :/

True that GIMP's UI is hard to get by, but it's good for some editing (not everything and not final touches though)
