What got you into Anime/Manga?

For anime, I think it has to have been either DBZ or Trigun. Then, as I started watching more anime, it brought me to shows like Cowboy Bebop and a myriad of developing series. I used to love Dragonball to death, but you might've already guessed that.

In regards to manga, I'd have to say Hajime No Ippo. I really loved it right from the start, even though I read it on an absolute whim. It's both the longest manga I've read, and the first one that I've caught up to. After that, it was Gantz (which just so happens to be the most brutal thing I've ever read). Now, I'm reading Kuroko no Basket and Denpa Kyoushi, since I've devoured Life is Money and Bloody Junkie takes forever to update.

well what got me into anime when i saw my first episode dbz goku vs nappa and than naruto vs neji in the chinnun exams before i know i started to watch anime

I already had seen DB when I was a kid but I only started watching anime when I was at a friend of mine's house and he was wacthing Naruto, it was playing Rock Lee vs Gaara, I got immediatly hooked

Well , I've been watching anime since I was little , but never knew it was anime at the time Dx , then stopped watching it as I grew & got back to it once I understood what it was & ran out of things to watch on T.V lol .

Started with Naruto & opened my anime world with Death Note .

I used to watch older stuff like Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakasho, Gundam Wing, Dragon ball Z, etc..
But I never read any manga until Naruto.

Well, Digimon, Pokemon and DBZ got me into watching this. The first legit series that I kept up to date with was Naruto, when it aired here in 2007 in English dub, too bad it stopped airing after Rock Lee was smashing Gaara in the Chuunin exams :/

didnt know about anime and manga till i play naruto clash of ninja for gamecube and thought it would be cool if they had a show looked it up online.did watch yugioh but i didnt even know it was anime.didnt know about manga till pain arc in manga at first i though they were just fake and people made it untill the anime caught up and i was like crap got to go read the manga.

Growing up with shows like Xiaolin Showdown and Pokemon could convert anybody. I mostly fell in love with online AMVs and was like: yup, got to watch that which is what lead to me starting my first 2 anime- Naruto & Soul Eater.

Never regretted and probably never will.

I saw Dragonball Z and Naruto first, but at the time, I didn't know they were supposed to be anime. Death Note was the first series I actually watched as an anime.

Mostly me watching Naruto and my friend who started exploring other anime showed me some anime and I started watching a variety of other anime besides Naruto. One of the 1st anime that I have watched outside of Naruto was Clannad and I started searching other anime and seeing what was good and what I liked.

How I got into manga was in middle school when my friends and I would just go down to the library or the computer lab and we would just read manga.

Watched 'em from when I was young, liked the art style. Started really getting into manga when I was 12.

THEN! I was just on netflix... saw this anime called "Girls Bravo" >.> My inner pervert took over and I began watching it :3
