[Question] What does /thread mean?

I think this is right section to post this in . Can sum1 tell me what it is, is it a good thing or a bad thing because I see people say it every time

It means that there's nothing to discuss any more, because a) the question has already been answered, or b) the asked question is so stupid it's not even worth answering.
