Yeah Sasuke couldn't beat jiraiya but I think it would have made a great story if he would have killed jiraiya but maybe in the future story Sasuke kills Kakashi.
I don't even get why the hell Naruto insists so badly that Sasuke returns... he's been gone longer then they where "friends" if you can even call it that, next to that Sasuke tried to kill him multiple times and clearly stated he doesnt even WANT to come back... all the time spend looking for that **** he couldve made new friends

If this unlikely scenario were to occur then I predict that a fury of FB's would trash Sasuke to no end. In fact, if the haters hated Sasuke enough already then this probably would've turned off the casual Sasuke fans I believe. Jiraiya was a loved character that the idea of getting killed by Sasuke who some people believe to be an annoying, whiny emo brat (not my opinion), would be the ultimate slap in the face. Pain was indifferent in that this was his introduction arc and was used to hype him plus he respected his former Sensei to some degree.
As far as storyline goes, well there would've been no going back for Naruto. Naruto would've have still searched for Sasuke but not to necessarily bring him back

its extremely unlikely that that would ever happen. If Naruto had seen it happen with his own eyes, he would have gotten the demon foxe's cloak and killed sasuke. He would have had less conflicting emotions if this were to happen
