Yes anime is indeed a bad influence ... flashy things like rasengan .. kamehameha and the likes are really bad for childrens ability to concentrate ... which is why i'd make anime pg16+

Its depend's on what area's of anime you're talking about and in what way they are a bad influence.

I guess some anime's are bad in the way they affect people's behavior:
1) some kid died whilst mimicing Gaara. (from what I heard, his friends burried his head in a sand box)
2) some people would go around making Death notes and pretending they were real. (Although I think the real ideots are the people who overreacted to these death notes and phoned the police)

Still, most of those happened in America (you can guess how I would phrase that in 3 words) and I think if you're dumb enough to try it then you deserve whats coming. (unless it involves their death, in which case I facepalm and say humanity is screwed)

To be honest, its about as touchy as videogame violence. (though the media aim's at videogames)

ok i see that had no effect let me rephrase it..

Is anime a bad influence for children ubnder the age of 13??
Yes, anime is bad influence for children under the age of 13.. kids under 13 should watch cartoons, and the difference between cartoons is like playing with dolls, and playing with action figures ;p

Dude its like asking is guns bad?

Really it depends in whos hands it lands. If its in a cereal killer (Yes I know i miss spelled it on purpose) xd The nyes it is obviously a bad influence.

I mean come on, all those violence and everything doesnt it want to make you kill somebody? ; ) LOL

No on a serious note, there is certain anime that is not suited for children and then there is pokemon and other kiddy anime that I would class as more suitable to the youth.

I would stick more with comics/cartoons than anime for obvious reasons. manga teaches children to read from right to left while comics the correct way around ~_~

I think its all on the parents, if they raise their kids to not take TV/anime seriously and teach them its fake(for the most part) then the kid should be fine. But if your kid watches DBZ and starts doing kicks and flipping off stuff then yes it will be bad for them.

Its like the people who claim the game GTA caused so many people to become violent and taught them its "okay" to go out and do that sort of thing. Its not the game, its the kid and how they receive it.

I agree with this guy. Especially when it comes to the examples he gives.

Nice post.

Edit: Lmao, I just remembered; my friend's mom thinks anime is evil. She won't let him buy anything anime related. I guess she thinks it's bad for him. xD

No, they are not a bad influence nowadays.
Maybe they were 10 years ago, when children were still playing with barbies and playmobil.
Now, they are playing Grand Theft Auto and Prototype for entertainment, so reading Naruto or Death Note for example, won't be an additional bad influence factor.

The way I see that Anime can be a bad influence on kids is in the way the characters in the Anime series are pictured with perfect and the most beautiful bodies and chests and butts. Bodies of really hot people. This may create idealizations and kids they may get delusion of HOW TO look. It can make kids feel ugly and imperfect and even suicidal. Common result.

this is not the best example, but you see my point:

AGREE , 10 years ago toys were still part of childhood but now a 10 year old should watch anime but he should play PROTOTYPE or Assassin's Creed ? In my opinion anime is good for everyone because its not only killing and fighting and violence in it .

Also Ofcourse it is, I mean anything with revenge, being cool by walking on walls, and playing with knifes "is".
The anime makes it look cool.
Kids would love to act out anime personas, and even apply them to life. Adults say no, and reason why is because they are smarter and understand reality more then children.
Obvious answer is Yes. =/
Nuff said. =D
I wouldn't mind being able to use jutsu..
Also forgive Mizu for the double post. D:

Thats not the point. =/
So what if they play more harmful, or watch more violent videos.

Kids act like people in anime, and still do..or try to do similiar stuff.

How can it not be?
I agree with the no violence in some anime..but what about personality, image etc.
My smallest sister liked playing Icarly, and yuuki they immitate.
Yes they are.
Sorry for double post T__T

Yes it is.

Most nerds watch anime. There has to be something about it.

Real anime fans are usually weird people with no life.

Nothing that consumes a lot of your time in Internet is good influence.
Games, anime, game/anime forums only create problems for us.

Lack of socializing in real life that's what is terrible about it.

Yes.

:p

i see your point, but kids wouldn't watch anime with girls like the one on my avatar, so if they would it may be their parent's problem, not anime's cause kid's parent's should know what are they doing

so no, i don't think anime is a bad influence
