What did Jiraiya Teach Naruto in the training trip.

Jiraya taught naruto many things while on the timeskip. However few of them were very noticeable things.

Essentially Jiraya taught naruto the ninja basics. Naruto in the past would just charge recklessly, and spam kage bushin.

Jiraiya taught naruto how to better utilize his clones. So naruto instead of just spamming 100+ clones to fight someone, would spam more like 10. He taught naruto how to use his chakra more effieciently.
He taught naruto how to break from basic genjutsu.

Keep in mind 2 things in comparison to sasuke.
1. Oro pumped sasuke full of drugs and forbbiden techniques. Sasuke was already a "genius", so he made lots of progress.
2. Jiraya was severly injured and unable to teach anything for weeks/months due to his life threatening injury made by tailed naruto.

Certainly narutos progress was disappointing. I mean 3 years for some subtle improvements?

Im not so sure anyone else other than oro would have been able to get much more progress out of naruto though.

He trained Naruto intensely in taijutsu which is why his clothes were torn shred; said in the anime but we can clearly see Naruto's taijutsu have improve from part 1 to Shippuden. Naruto's timing with his Shadow clones also improved and he learn how to use his clones much better and can even turn them into giant weapons (part 1 was regular sides weapons)
