Bhijudamma just doesn't seem to cut it as a "secret jutsu" to me. Especially since the "secret jutsu" has been used so many times by so many people/ I think it should have been something unique.

And apart from this trying to control kyuubi's power, the first thing he did after meeting naruto was to try and get him to use kyuubi chakra which shows jiraiya's first priority was teaching him to control that power

Naruto had control uptil 3 tails because of that

He tutored him mainly on ways to control the Kyuubi, it got dangerous up to the fourth tail and the Nardo-Kyuubi nearly killed him.(He did it mainly because of Akatsuki at that time).

Apart from that he bettered Nardo's basics; perfecting his chakra control, summons, breaking genjutsu and Oodama rasengan.

If it weren't for J-Man, Nardo's basics which was shit would've stayed shit.
